The Love of God
As one see's the seasons change and nature renewing itself around us, have you ever thought about how great and loving our Father in heaven is? To think by HIs Word He brought all this into being; what blessings we have on this earth. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) When we notice each time God proceeded to finish the creation, He said "Then God said"....what greatness and power.
One of my fondest Psalms is number 19. In this precious Psalm He revealed both His physical power and His spiritual power and wishes also. The design of His creation tells us many things about God besides His power. Have you ever considered all the animals and trees, flowers and plant life we often fail to see up close. And the design of the many places all over the earth. Diversity, and beautiful places He has given us to see with our eyes, and sense with our other abilities. Only the God of heaven could have provided all this for us.
"O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth. Who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens! "(Psalm 8:1)
"When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; What is man, that Thou dost take thought of him? Yet Thou hast made him a little lower than God, And dost crown him with glory and majesty! Thou dost make him to rule over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet, " (Psalm 8:3-6)
Can we observe nature around us and learn His Word and not understand the great love He has for us? Since man was "Made us in His image" it should cause us to be humble and desire to give our Father the respect and reverence He deserves. "Fear God and keep His commandments" (Ecclesiastes 12:13f)
"But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you. Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the LIFE OF EVERY LIVING THING., And the breath of all mankind? (Job 12:7-10)
"The God who made the world, and all things in it since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; neither is He served by human hands; as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things; and He made from one every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation; that they SHOULD SEEK GOD, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, "For we also are His offspring." (Acts 17:24-28)
By reading such Scriptures as Psalm 19 we are given some insight into the nature and love of our Father. The unmatched power, love, and mercy of the Lord should motivate us to greater love and appreciation for all He has done. As spring now approaches pay attention to how His hand is seen in every living thing. By looking into a clear sky at night and see the bright moon and millions of sparkling stars, by seeing a beautiful sunset or sunrise, by listening to the birds on a spring morning -- what a wonderful Father we have in heaven!! Let us be thankful! God be with you this beautiful day He has made.
