What if we would turn our backs on God? In the Bible we are told of many who did "TURN THEIR BACKS ON GOD". The Nation of Israel did that on numerous occasions. God finally had enough and they paid the penalty by many giving their very lives, and many others spending long periods in captivity; living in foreign lands and being slaves to their enemies. Even though God is patient, loving, and merciful He has limits. He provides so much for us now and in His promises for the future. He has made possible for us to know Him though His Inspired Word, the Bible. Have you ever considered what we would know about God without the Bible? He is around us in His creation and we see the evidence every day of His hand in that through things all about us; animals, trees, flowers, the heavens above us, the changing of the seasons. The list goes on. Evidence of a designer and superior Being reminds us every day who God is. But to know God and His Mind and Will we can only find that in the divine Scriptures. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
So what has God done for us that causes us to us respect and revere Him? HE LOVES US AND SHOWS THAT IN ALL HE HAS DONE FOR US AND HAS
PROMISED!!
* He made us in His image (Genesis 1:26)...we are created as the pinnacle of His creation, with a role no other has
*He desires communication with man, from the very beginning (His Word, and our prayers) (Remember Noah, Abraham, Moses and others)
*He loves us so much He gives us a way out of sin. Since sin separates us from Him, He was the only One able to save us ( John 3:15-17)
*He sent His Son, Jesus, for a sacrifice and savior to reconcile and justify us. (Romans 5:1-2) By an obedient faith.
*He designed and put in place, through His Son, the plan for us to obey and save us from sin -- the GOSPEL OF CHRIST (Romans 1:16, 3:22,24)
*He loves us enough to want us to be with Him and His Son in heaven after this life, for all eternity. (1 Timothy 2:3,4)
*He is patient enough to give us opportunity and time to obey His Word, and make changes (2 Peter 3:9,10)
*He has promised His Son will return one day and take us to an eternal home (2 Peter 3:10; Hebrews 9:27,28)
We serve a loving and merciful God like no other. Our hope and peace in life now depends on Him, and our life in eternity will come as a promise to those who listen and obey His Will. (Matthew 7:21) To receive the promise He has made to the faithful, we MUST NEVER TURN OUR BACKS ON GOD!
Have you obeyed the saving plan God gave us? Have you remained faithful to His Words? Things we all need to think about.
