God's Promise
God's Promise
Sometimes we make promises, and sometimes we fail to keep them. We all know that happens to most of us, from time to time. But when God makes a promise, that will always come true. When He called Abram (later named Abraham) from his home in Ur , he made three promises to him -- a nation promise, a land promise, and most important of all a spiritual promise which would bless all families of the earth. (Genesis 12:3f)
"And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.".
All these promises would come true, just as God had informed Abram. The great Hebrew nation eventually developed from Jacob's sons, and they finally entered the promised land of Canaan. By way of this family (tribe of Judah) Jesus would be born (Matthew 1), and after His death, burial, resurrection, salvation for ALL PEOPLE was available -- fulfilling the promise God made to Abraham long before.(Acts 2) Jesus, God's Son, and His Gospel began to be preached and obeyed, bringing salvation to those who obeyed. The Lord's church came into reality. Those who obeyed were added to the saved by the Lord. This same Gospel is being preached even today, with the same wonderful results. Salvation for those who believe, and obey.
"Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith that are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying. 'ALL THE NATIONS SHALL BE BLESSED IN YOU." So then, those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer." (Galatians 3:7-9)
"For this reason it is by faith, that it might be i accordance with grace, in order that the PROMISE MAY BE CERTAIN, to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law (Jews), but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, " (Romans 4:16)
God's promises are always faithfully fulfilled. God does things in His own time. Even though some doubt the second coming of Jesus, that PROMISE WILL BE FULFILLED. . "The Lord is not slow about His PROMISE, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for ALL TO COME TO REPENTANCE." (2 Peter 3:9)
Where are you in relationship to God's promise, His plan, and your salvation?? He made a choice, we can understand and obey, and look forward to heaven and eternity with Him. What is your choice???
