He Wants Us to Be Saved
He Wants Us to Be Saved
When we look to God's Word, we immediately can conclude some obvious facts about Him - His love, patience, mercy, and concern for man. Immediately when created He always desired a close relationship with man. One of the greatest means to support this fact is the way He created man and woman. Since He created man and woman in His image (Genesis 1:26; 3:22) we see evidence of His great love and concern. Also the environment He placed man in, with a perfect fellowship between God and man, shows how He intended that relationship to be.
Sadly, man chose to break that relationship by committing sin, disobeying God. Ever since the Garden, men have chosen to disobey Him and place their souls in danger. Another one of God's great blessings He has always given man is that of repentance, making it possible to restore that relationship with Him.
(2 Corinthians 7:10)
From His great love, God has put in place a plan which man can take advantage of -- and be restored into relationship with Him. By way of His Son, and the Gospel of Christ this plan had its beginning. As we read in Acts 2, the Apostles began preaching the Gospel, men obeyed, and were saved from their sins. We have the same plan and same opportunity today. All because He loves us so much, and wishes us to be saved from our sins, eventually be with Him and HIs Son in heaven.
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever beliefs may in Him have eternal life, For God so LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. " (John 3:14-16) As the Gospel teaches in the New Testament, hearing His Truth, believing (faith), repenting of sin, confessing Jesus as the Son of God, and being baptized into Him, completes the plan He has given. For man to try to improve on His plan, is to fail. The plan is simple, but it is God's choice, and has the same power today as always. Have you obeyed that plan? If so, have you remained faithful to live by that plan? You can still make the right choice.
"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE F THE TRUTH. " (1 Timothy 2:3-4)
Finally, we find in the 2nd letter from Peter, how great is the patience of our God - "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is PATIENT TOWARD YOU, NOT WISHING FOR ANY TO PERISH BUT FOR ALL TO COME TO REPENTANCE." (2 Peter 3:9).
As you read the next verse notice the PROMISE made there -- "But the DAY OF THE LORD WILL COME...." (Hebrews 9:27-28)
If you read on in this chapter you will find the writer exhorting people to be ready for that time to come.....we will all answer on that day!! (verses 14-15)
Again, wishing you a great day, and please consider the things He has given in the Scriptures......He wants us to be saved.
