God's Promises
God's Promises
We find many promises given us in the Scriptures. Some of those are witnessed each day we live; the greatness of nature and all we see around us. The changing of the seasons, sunshine and rain to nurture the grass and trees, rainbows in the skies, etc. As we look forward when this life is over, He has given us such wonderful, and comforting promises to come. One of those that readily comes to mind is found in Paul's second letter to the Corinthians. Please allow me to go to a portion of that wonderful letter.
"For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, WE HAVE A BUILDING FROM GOD, A HOUSE NOT MADE WITH HANDS, ETERNAL IN THE HEAVENS." (2 Corinthians 5:1-2)
"For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died, and He died for all; that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." (2 Corinthians 5:14,15)
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.": (2 Corinthians 5:21)
What a wonderful blessing for faithful Christians to know He has made these promises. God, by His divine nature, always carries out the promises made.
To be able to look forward to an eternal home with Him and His Son when this life ends is a blessing without measure. We ought to be motivated and encouraged daily to be thankful for our Saviour's love and promise of heaven. Jesus did all the Father asked and carried out the plan He sent Him to earth to accomplish.
Let us always put our complete trust and faith in Him and all He has promised for those who remain faithful to the end.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a LIVING HOPE THROUGH THE RESURRECTION O FJESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, RESEVERVED IN HEAVEN FOR YOU, who are protected by the power of God THROUTH FAITH, FOR A SALVATION READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME. " (1 Peter 1:3-5) God be with us.
